Belfast peace wall carries a history behind it and this history calls out for the travelers to come closer and dig deep to know more about the reason behind building it and dig deeper to know more stories related to this era. Peace walls - or peace lines, as it is also referred to - are a series of separation barriers that separate predominantly Republican and Nationalist Catholic neighborhoods from predominantly Loyalist and Unionist Protestant neighborhoods. The reason behind the creation of these walls go back to minimizing the inter-communal violence between Catholics (most of those are nationalists who self identify as Irish) and Protestants (most of whom are unionists who self identify as British). (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks6Xdhq8aag) Belfast Peace Walls are long, they range between few hundred yards to over three miles, and they are made of iron, brick and steel. This will differ according to the location you are standing at because these long walls are not only found in one place; the majority might be found in Belfast, but there are also those in Derry, Portadown and Lurgan. Some of these walls have gates in them that only allow the passage during daylight in order to avoid any problems that could occur - sometimes these gates are even stuffed with police. These walls were actually temporary when they were first built back in 1969, following the outbreak of the 1969 Northern Ireland riots and The Troubles, but they only kept increasing in length and they were never removed until this very day, they are even now used by artists as walls on which they perform their drawings to make them all look more cheerful. In the early 1990's, these walls which were supposed to stay for 6 months only, were only 18 but they kept increasing in number and in size, they kept getting wider, longer and more permanent, until they almost reached 59 walls in 2017. For the good history that these peace walls carry, they have even become touristic attractions for tourists coming to visit Belfast - since most of them are located in Belfast - in order for them to hear about their historical story and at the same time get the chance to see those art drawings which are now filling most of these walls. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqnP3bqeXLs) A lot of people still think that these walls or lines are going to be removed in the near future, but actually the discussion began in 2008 and in 2011 the study that was released pointed out that 69% of the residents still believe that these walls are actually important, and since then there were no plans for these walls to be removed and they are still placed until today. We have had our tours to the Belfast peace walls before - we even got there to sign our names on one of them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVdTKWnIbCo) - and we should say that it is actually interesting to visit such a place and know more about the history it carries while at the same time checking the art drawings that are found there on the wall and which might be one of the main reasons why lots of tourists decide to visit it before they decide to leave Belfast, Northern Ireland. These walls that reach six metres tall and which separate two sides from one another have those drawings on the walls which are harmonic but which are delivering messages of oppression or revenge at the same time. Since Belfast is known to be the most famous when it comes to the peace walls, we should also shed the lights on the most famous streets where these walls are located. The most famous of these walls are the ones that divide between Falls and Shankill Roads in the western part of Belfast. On the Shankill Road side, Union Jack flags hang from houses and poles on the street and this is the side where the British flags are found everywhere. The main reason behind what is known as "The Troubles" goes back to the fact that people didn't know back then whether to consider this part as a small part of the Republic of Ireland or else is part of the United Kingdom, and that is exactly the reason why at one side you will find the British flags and on the other you might find some Irish ones. Nobody knows the future of peace walls and whether Irish people are against their existence or else with, but they will have to accept them and thus will only need to change them to something with a message, and that's exactly what art helps with. We have been to Belfast peace walls several times and since we consider it now one of the touristic places that help people know more about the history of Belfast, we now deliver these videos as something that people will need in order to experience and to know what they are going to see if they eventually decided to go there once they are in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The London Aquarium is a great break from the hustle and bustle of the London traffic. Through each location you can see everything from Octopus, Ray's, Penguins and more. An amazing family thing to do - or for anyone ;-) The Sea Life London Aquarium is located on the ground floor of County Hall on the South Bank of the River Thames in central London, near the London Eye. It opened in March 1997 as the London Aquarium and hosts about one million visitors each year.

No trip to London is complete without seeing and even being on a London Eye trip / tour. On a good day you can see all around the South Bank of the River Thames. Sometimes called the Big Wheel - or the Millennium Wheel - when it was first installed back in 1999 - it has become an incredibly popular attraction. The structure is 443 feet (135 m) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 394 feet (120 m). When it opened to the public in 2000 it was the world's tallest Ferris wheel. It is now known as the Coca-Cola London Eye due to a certain sponsorship deal! There are 32 sealed air conditioned ovoidal passenger capsules which represent the 32 London boroughs. Each capsule holds a maximum of 25 people and you can actually walk around the capsule while it is moving - the rotation is very slow! The original wheel was owned by The Tussauds Group, British Airways and Marks Barfield who were the original architects - but Tussauds bought their partners out in 2005 and 2006. The Blackstone Group bought Tussauds out in 2007 - but the London Eye has stayed true to the core as a principal tourist attraction for anyone visiting London for a weekend shopping or sight seeing trip. Are you searching for a really good restaurant where you could eat the best juicy steak out there? We have been at the same place while trying to find the best restaurants in Belfast until we came upon Deanes Meatlocker in Belfast City Centre and tried their perfect steak out there. While trying to bring you the most beautiful restaurants to be found in Belfast - and help the locals as well as tourists to know where to eat - Michelle stumbled upon this restaurant and she not only ordered her plate and enjoyed it, but she also got the chance to have a talk with the chef who gave her some good tips - shared with you in the video! The choice of food might differ from one person to the other but we should all agree that when it comes to steaks then those juicy medium done ones are considered the favorite for lots of people and that is why we definitely recommend Deanes Meatlocker as one of the best in making this type of steak. As a tourist, choosing the restaurant will happen haphazardly, according to the one you come across when you are at the peak of your hunger, and since the city centre of the city is where most of the touristic locations and landmarks are situated, it is definitely a recommended place to head to because that will also be in the same area. According to the chef of Deanes Meatlocker, there is one important tip which we brought back to our homes and to our followers; when you cook any type of meat out there, you should let it rest for about 20 or even 30 minutes because that would bring it more juicy and it would be even easier for you to chew - you might be just like us and you might have never let that rest at home, once done, immediately in the stomach :-)) so next time let it rest. We were asking ourselves - and the chef - one important question: will we ever be able to cook the same juicy steak we got at the Deanes? And we both knew the answer; we most probably will never reach this same level and bring a good steak as this one we received in the restaurant, it is prepared in a totally different way that is mixed with love and passion for what is being done in addition to the actual cooking spices that the restaurant tends to use. The passion we received from the chef while speaking about food and cooking made us believe that it really helps in bringing the best dishes out there. Deanes Meatlocker is one of the oldest restaurants to be found in Belfast City Centre, it has been there for almost 20 years or something and this should be enough to prove that it can truly bring the best dishes out there with the help of the chefs who work in the place. The chef told us that the first important step in preparing such a steak as the one he served us is to source the best piece of meat that is found out there and which would suit that person's pocket money; it doesn't have to cost them a fortune in order to end up with a good meal at the end, but the most important thing is to know the source of that meat which you are eating in the end. To move forward with cooking, the piece of meat should be found in a room temperature place with cooking it in a hot pan and cook it with oil and butter until it starts to come to that brown color that you prefer. Bringing the steak after cooking either well done or medium done will always differ from one person to the other and there is no right or wrong way in cooking your meat, you just have to follow the initial steps and bring your favorite steak out. Deanes Meatlocker is definitely now one of the restaurants in Belfast City Centre which we would recommend for all those searching for a place to have their favorite perfect steak and it now stands as one of our top favorite. There are other restaurants also located in Belfast which people could choose from and which Michelle also managed to bring some reviews about (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuJWBJ8zGVw). It is not just about the best restaurants to eat at but sometimes even sitting with your friends or by yourself to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and have a dessert to eat along is considered the most important part of the day for some people and those are the ones who should know about the best cafes in Belfast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o41-ocqbgI) and know which one they are supposed to choose and try - if not trying them all :-))!
