Belfast Christmas Market - Belfast Continental Market - Christmas in Belfast 2019 - Northern Ireland

Belfast Christmas Market - Belfast Continental Market - Christmas in Belfast 2019 It's not Christmas in Belfast until City Hall is taken over by the Continental Christmas Market! Inside the Christmas market, there are lots of different things to experience; from buying Christmas gifts and goodies, sweets and desserts, and what everyone will pretty much admit they love the market for is the wide variety of food and beer tents. Belfast feels extremely festive with the market especially at night when it is illuminated by Christmas lights and the lights from the stalls themselves. The mix of sweet and savoury smells entice visitors to come inside and see what it could offer, which is exactly the same that happened with us with Belfast Christmas market which we have visited before but always come back to every single year. Inside this market, we strolled down, walking beside all these different stalls and watching what they are offering - buying a couple of things along the way :-) Walking down through the glowing streets at night or even walking inside these markets is the one thing that succeeds at delivering the feeling of that season and time of the year in the most right, successful, and correct way. If you are visiting Belfast or Northern Ireland this Christmas or the next, visiting the Belfast Christmas Market at least once on you trip is essential. We are Connolly Cove. Moira | Moira Demesne | County Down | Discover Northern Ireland

Moira | Moira Demesne | County Down | Discover Northern Ireland

Moira is a quaint town in County Down near the borders to Antrim and Armagh. Rich in history, Moira offers lots of shops and cafes to try out as well as walks around some of the old ring forts and Moira Demesne where a mansion once stood. The population of Moira is around 4,591. Moira is known as more of a commuter town with the M1 to Belfast passing near by as well as the Belfast to Dublin railway line passing too. However Moira's history is very interesting. Moira, in Irish 'Maigh Rath' meaning "plain of the stream or wheels", has always been a desirable location in decades gone by due to its views and proximity to Lough Neagh it was a valuable location for settlements and often Gaelic and English forces would come to blows there until the English were granted the land following the Irish rebellion of 1641. Rawdon's from England bought the land and its surroundings and built a mansion there until it was dismantled in the 1800s following the decay of its gardens after being used as a secondary home. The Gardens have since been revitalised and invested into what we call Moira Demesne today. The Demesne provides visitors with a peaceful getaway from the picturesque town and bustling roads and railways near by. The demesne covers around 40 acres of land providing plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the beauty of nature and the outdoors. Moira Demesne has certain areas dedicated to biodiversity which gives the area a rich character as it has a wide variety of old trees emphasising the areas age and uniqueness. Moira has plenty to see and do for all the family, especially Moira Demesne with its wide variety of plant life, wild life and activities and events.
