Fionn McCool - the famous Irish giant was having a fight with a Scottish giant - Benandonner who is threatening Ireland. Finn grabs stones from the Antrim coast and throws them into the sea. The rock forms a path for Finn to follow to Scotland and teach Benandonner a lesson. When Fionn arrives - he sees Benandonner is massive! Finn gets home to Antrim as quick as possible, followed by the giant. Fionn hides in his babies pram in his house and when the Scottish Giant arrives - he sees the baby and decided if the child was that big, the daddy must be really huge. So leaves - pulling up the stones as he goes...leaving only the stones we see today at the Giants Causeway! Another version is - the Causeway is from old Volcano's from 60 million years ago - which left 40,000 basalt columns for us to wonder at today!
